July 2026 eNewsletter - Reflections on Summer Camp and Summer Field School

We just wanted to take a moment to say how grateful we are after wrapping up another summer camp together. Every year, we hope the week will feel like a mix of learning, fun, and family time, and this one really did. The kids showed up energetic and excited to see their cousins again; the Elders, chaperones, and teachers showed up ready to share their knowledge, dig in, and help; and all of you worked together to make it meaningful.

To our Elders, teachers, and youth mentors: thank you for sharing stories, language, and teachings in the way only you can.

To the parents and families: thank you for trusting us with your kids and cheering them on.

To every volunteer, staff member, and community partner who helped with setup and takedown, rides, supplies, logistics, and the million little things that keep camp running, you’re the glue that holds it all together. Thank you!

And to all of our funding partners who make this possible year after year, we couldn’t do this without you! We notice it all, and we appreciate you all more than we can say.

It takes a whole community to create a week like this, and we’re honored to be part of it. Looking forward to next year!

With gratitude,

Steven & Maura Pratt
